SASSFLOWER is a full service Wedding Florist specialising in modern luxury and statement yet intentional floral design; recently voted as a Top 10 UK Wedding Florist by ‘Web Vibes’, a Top 15 Wedding Florist by ‘The Wed’ and a Top 3 Wedding Design Instagram Account by ‘Junebug Weddings’. Based in Tarporley, we cover Cheshire, the North West, UK, Europe & Beyond embracing destination weddings. Established in 2015, just days after returning from my work at Cartamo Flores in Seville, I was fired up to start my own adventure and needed to make it official. Cartamo is the Spanish translation for Safflower, so I threw in my name Sasha and added a little bit of sass and SASSFLOWER was born.
Prior to my Spanish floral expedition I managed large scale events across the UK & Europe and it was actually one of these events that I became inspired to follow my heart and enrol on a wide range of floristry courses. I truly believe we all have an art form, and I found my perfect playground within floral design. My love for mother nature had always been there; admiring my Nanna's arrangements and design books, her aptly named Poppy Cottage with red poppies painted on every treasure she had to my fascination with the flower fairies and being fixated on the floral alphabet edition wishing my name began with and ‘f’ so I could be Fuschia instead of Strawberry. The incorporation of antique florals into my otherwise minimalist branding symbolises both my personal journey to becoming a Florist and my love for marrying tradition & innovation; old & new.
Today I look back with surreality; from fronting magazine covers, celebrity weddings, featuring in Vogue, Weddings in Lake Como and decorating a moving boat in the middle of the Amalfi Coast all whilst fulfilling my artistic calling. Ultimately however the greatest joy is to work with so many couples at the most celebrated time of their life; projecting their personality through their floral decor all the while enhancing the aesthetic & ambience of their special day. I undoubtedly live for the floral obsessed clients who appreciate style-led floral designs bursting with complimentary yet perfectly contrasting colour and texture harmonies; essentially those who want something a little less off the shelf and those who class floral decor with high importance.
Unlike picking a dress or a venue, you never quite know what you’re going to get on your big day when it comes flowers - which is why I believe picking the right florist is one of the most important supplier decisions you will make.
